HI-AI Diversion Chains
“The Reason is Speaking” 2023-2024

The works are approaching the intersection of Religious mind and Artificial Intelligence, Holy Trinity and contemporary fanatism. Various works are presented in combining human and non-human visions, assuming an inherent deformity in both. The series includes manipulated objects, installations, book, found religious texts and AI generated images.

The visual narrative is derived from a speech in the public space. The Imagery in the booklet and the HI-AI Diversion chain spatial installation is developed by generative algorithms using text prompts from an anonymous human-made prophesy. Statements as “God does not sin and does not joke” are found in an original booklet “The Reason is Speaking”, and several other flyers. “The Reason is Speaking” is an informational bulletin: no authorship, self-published, typewritten in Bulgarian, xeroxed, and reproduced in black and white copies. It tells us about God’s testimonies and the Devil’s instruments and it claims telling the truth about our existence. “The Reason is Speaking” is a warning of the upcoming “end of times” – as it says. The final appeal is to keep spreading “the truth”. The bulletins and the flyers are found across Sofia (BG) in the period 2018-2023: distributed for free and relatively regular as in analog social media sharing realm.

HI-AI Diversion chains series are focused on AI text-to-image generative process in visually thinking religious abstract notions – observing their conceptual, cultural and media-depending diversions. Some works does not apply AI imagery directly. Other are site-related – taking into account the local space specifics and materiality, assimilating and altering it in the same concept.
